Deluxe Ohana Unit
This small addition was designed to be an attached studio with a large accessible bathroom for an elderly parent as well as a kitchenette in the living area. Above all, the design elements had to be in line with the neighborhood, which was constantly becoming more affluent so resale value would reflect the times. NOTE! Legislation is in the works to allow ohana dwellings in the City and County of Honolulu. Are you interested in an additional stream of income?
Marking out for excavating.
No turning back now!
Plumber has roughed in prior to slab being poured.
Making the split pitch barge rafter.
Installed faux rafters. I found recycled lumber and stained it a coffee color. It was a lot more work but ended up having huge appeal.
Tile guy did a great job!
Corian demi wall next to the toilet with glass on top kept it from having too much tile.
Contrast between dark cabinets and light accents makes it crisp.
E komo mai!
Looking into bathroom from bedroom.
